When Kennis from Itch to Stitch called for testers for Visby Henley and Top, I had to look it up to find out what a Henley is… maybe I´m not the only one.
What I was sure of, is that I wanted to join. Visby is not just a henley, it is also a raglan. Raglans have always been a bit difficult for me, as I have pretty broad, square shoulders. I usually takes quite a bit of fitting to get the shoulders to fit right without too much pulling at the armpits. I knew I would be in good hands with Kennis. As it turned out I didn’t have to do any fitting at all; it just fits.
Besides for being a raglan and having the options for henley, it also has a hood option and long cuffs. Both thing I really like in a top.
I would normally be biased to sewing plackets, but I knew with the instructions from Kennis, that I would be in good hands. And I was right. She is pretty special that way; she always finds ways to make hard details manageable and makes great instructions. Don’t let sewing plackets shy you away from Visby.
Visby Henley and Top has great options and is a wonderful pattern for color blocking.
For my first Visby, I have more to come, I chose a light cotton lycra I have been saving for the right pattern. It is perfect for this one and I love my Visby top a lot.
