The gorgeous new pattern from Itch to Stitch, Hvar, is a must in every fall wardrobe. Besides from being beautiful, it is also a very fast end easy sew. It doesn’t look easy, but the way the collar it is constructed, is very clever and gives the jacket an elegant look.
The jacket can be sewn in fabric with some body, but also needs some drape for the collar to lay right. I choose a thin-ish coat wool. I love that the seam on inside of the jacket can be finished with Hong Kong seams. I find it sooo gratifying to make a nice finish on the inside.
Only alteration I did, was lengthened the sleeve by 3cm. That is a very common alteration for me, as I am tall and like my sleeve on the long side .
This blogpost has no affiliated links, as I want all the earnings to go to Kennis, who was burglarized and has her sewing machine, computer and camera stolen. For the same reason, she has lots of patterns on sale at the moment. Go check it out, and support a great indie pattern designer.
